For the last four years, I have been working hard to get through all of the books I own. As a reader, I fall victim to the allure of new books and it’s easy to buy them faster than they can be read. This year, my shelf went through a good purge, where I removed a number of books I had lost interest in. It would have been nice to have read those books but at some point, you have to admit that the books that have been sitting there for 10 years are no longer what you want to read. It’s time for aRead More →

Another month of reading has come to an end. Each month I set out to read a number of books to help reduce my TBR. Some months I read very few books. While others I get through a surprising number. I had expected October to be light on reading, as I knew it would be a fairly busy month, yet I managed to get through more books than expected. This was a nice surprise but also meant I was reading a lot of enjoyable books, as once I pick those up I tend to have a hard time putting them down. With each month thatRead More →

September was a strange reading month. It started off strong, getting through 4 books in the first week. After that, I found myself with less and less time to dive into my books. Of course, September was a pretty busy month, so this isn’t surprising. In the second half of the month, I didn’t even touch a book. While my goal had been to read 10 books this month, I didn’t quite get to reaching that. Even so, I did put a small dent into my still fairly large TBR. My September 2022 reading wrap-up covers the books I read during the month and whatRead More →

Every month is an opportunity to explore new worlds and learn something new through reading. With an enormous TBR to choose from, I have an almost never-ending supply of books to choose from. I always make sure to set aside time every month to read, picking up a book almost every day. I found a lot of time to delve into reading in August, allowing me to get through quite a few books. Reading a number of different genres also helps me read a ton, as I rarely get tired of reading because I am always reading something different. This August 2022 reading wrap-up goesRead More →

July was a fantastic month when it comes to reading, I had planned to set aside more time for enjoying my books this month and it paid off well. Reading is by far one of my favorite ways to spend my free time. It’s a great way to be entertained or even learn something new. Each book I read helps me get one step closer to reducing my large TBR into something much more manageable. As with most months, I managed to get through a number of genres over the course of the month, which allows me to truly enjoy a wide variety of stories.Read More →

June came and went in a flash. Despite the fast passing of the month, and how busy I was, I still managed to find a good chunk of time to read quite a few books. My goal was to get through at least 5 books in June, doing so would help reduce my large TBR. In the last few years, I have managed to shrink my TBR quite a bit. As with most months, I did read a mix of genres, though a big chunk of this month’s reading was manga, mostly because they are quick to read and I didn’t have a ton ofRead More →

May was a lighter month of reading. I had grand intentions of getting a ton of reading done, but then other tasks ate up much of my time. Even so, I did get the squeeze in some time here and there to pick up a book. While I would have liked to have read a bit more, getting through even a bit of my TBR is always nice. Reading is one of my favorite ways to spend time and with each month that passes, I am steadily working on reducing what was once a massive TBR into something a bit more manageable. Another month of reading has come to an end. While April felt initially sluggish, I quickly fell into a pattern of regular reading again and often found myself glued to my reading corner for hours on end. This is good news, as I am still working on reducing my large TBR, though I have done a fair job of shrinking it over the last few years. Some books that had been waiting years for my attention finally got their time to shine, however, plenty of newer books also made it into the pile this month. This April 2022 reading wrap-up will show off all thatRead More →

March was, initially, a lackluster reading month. I had every intention of sitting down and reading every day yet I couldn’t be bothered to do so. However, as the month progressed and began to creep closer to the end, I got my reading desire back. With every book I got through I was that much closer to hitting my reading goal for the month while also reducing my giant TBR. What was once an overwhelming TBR has shrunk over 3 years of dedicated reading and limited purchasing of new books. My March 2022 reading wrap-up showcases the books I read and my general thoughts onRead More →

February was a crazy reading month. I did not plan to do a ton of reading and yet life threw me the opportunity. Our modem died at the end of January and wasn’t fixed until mid-February. This led to a lot of free time and so I turned to books. In fact, most of these books were read in the first 10 days of the month. Honestly, in a way, this was fantastic because it allowed me to truly tackle my TBR in an unexpected way. As with most months, I read a pretty good mix of genres in February, as I find sticking toRead More →
