The finish line of Camp NaNoWriMo is that much closer now that the fourth week has come to an end. This means it’s time for the Camp NaNoWriMo 2020 week 4 update. While I love writing, it does have its challenges and this month has had plenty. Regardless, I find the challenges push me to become a better writer and to work at overcoming these hurdles. Writing by the seat of my pants is one of the biggest hurdles I have experienced. Yet I am glad that I chose to go this route for this month, as it shook up my normal writing routine. Did you know that Camp NaNoWriMo is happening? April is when this 30-day writing challenge occurs. It is quite similar to NaNoWriMo and so I decided to give weekly updates on my progress as I did back in November. Because of everything that is going on in the world, I didn’t quite get my NaNoWriMo kit filled with snacks. However, I am confident that I can continue to balance writing with life, I’ll just do so with fewer snacks. Writing is a great way to fill the time when stuck at home or whenever your creative juices are flowing. Without further ado, here is myRead More →

Now is the time to find those items and putRead More →

November has come and gone. During the month, my family did a no spend challenge. Now that it is over, it’s time to do a no spend November recap. Though we have done no spend months in the past, this was the first one we did since starting the blog. In fact, it was the first one we had done in close to a year, so it was overdue. After setting some rules, it was time to get to it. I have to say that doing this no spend month was just what we needed. I know a lot of people find the idea ofRead More →

NaNoWriMo progress update

It’s officially the halfway point of NaNoWriMo. I thought it would be fun to give you a little update on how I’m doing. Though I have posted a few minor updates on Twitter, I haven’t gone into too much detail. Thus, I give you my official half-way through NaNoWriMo progress report. NaNoWriMo progress report Day 1 & 2 I started off strong. Getting ahead on the first day is something that I strive to do each year. Not only does it make me feel great, but it gives me that little cushion for days when the words don’t flow as easily. At the end of dayRead More →

It’s time for a no spend November. Back in October, Saving Joyfully and Lemon Blessings did a no spend month. I had wanted to join in on that. However, knowing that we had our annual pre-winter stock up trip, it’s wasn’t feasible. Putting off that shopping trip wasn’t an option, because we knew winter could potentially hit at any time and we wanted to get it done while the weather was good. So we decided to do a no spend November. This is not our first time doing a no spend month. Last year we successfully completed a few no spend months and we actuallyRead More →

These are just a few of the things to figure out in order to get ready for NaNoWriMo. For those who aren’t aware NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is a writing challenge heldRead More →

30 day fitness challenge results

Last month I decided to do a 30-day fitness challenge. Part of the reason for this was to try to get back into shape. The second reason was to see whether these challenges actually work or not. I was pretty sure ti wouldn’t work. Afterall, how could adding some exercise for a month really make a huge difference? Especially when I was still eating like I always have. Well, that was a bit reason why I wanted to test one of these challenges out. To see just how accurate the results were. I highly doubted that I would go from fat to a ripped skinnyRead More →

There are quite a few 30-day challenges out there. Some are for photography, others for cooking and there are a large number of fitness ones. There are those that look easy, while others seem quite challenging. But I am going to focus on the 30-day fitness challenge ones. We have all seen those before and after photos. Where the before picture if a person with plenty of fat on their body. Then 30 days later they are not only slim but have a killer six-pack to boot. However, the kicker is when they claim that no diet change is necessary. All that is required is aRead More →
