The second week of Camp NaNoWriMo has come to a close. I will admit, this wasn’t the easiest of weeks, I was busy with a lot of things around the house, there was a heatwave and I was overall distracted. July is likely to be one of my busiest months of the year, so finding the time to write every day is a challenge, but I still plan on giving it my all. This week, I did find some help with the writing by joining in on some writing sprints. Sprints are one of my favorite ways to write, as they give you a burst of writing and then you take a short break. You can do as many sprints as you want per day. This July 2020 Camp NaNoWriMo Week 2 update will go over how my writing went the last 7 days.
Curious about how the previous week went? Check out my week 1 update.
July 2020 Camp NaNoWriMo Week 2
Day 5
This was an incredibly productive day. Not just with writing but everything else. I got a ton of blog work done, including drafting five posts. Then I put a couple of hours of housework in as I was finally feeling motivated to do so – the heatwave was still here but this day was cooler than the previous ones. After doing so much, I had worried that I would lose my motivation and skip writing. But I had nothing to worry about. When I sat down I was able to easily write 1102 words.
Day 6
I honestly don’t remember what else I had going on this day, but I’m sure that it was busy. I was able to add 938 words.
Day 7
This day I lacked motivation. I wasted a lot of time watching random videos and basically did my best to avoid being responsible. Eventually, I forced myself to sit down and write. It took a while but I managed to get 613 words written.
Day 8
Guess who forgot to update her word count on this day? Yup, I did! It’s the one downside to tracking your writing on a site, sometimes you just forget to go to that site and update it. In the end, I wrote 631 words.
Day 9
I did it again! I forgot to update my word count. Perhaps I need to set a reminder to ensure that I do it. Oh well, what matters is that I did the writing, even if my word count chart doesn’t reflect it. This was a good writing day and I managed to add 1089 words.
Day 10
Now I just feel dumb. I forgot to add the words from this day. Clearly, this is the trend for the week. So, needless to say, my word count chart does a terrible job of reflecting how much I have written. But enough about my failure to keep my stats updated. On this day I managed to write 1023 words.
Day 11
This was quite a busy day. I was tackling a lot of housework that I had ignored the previous days. Even so, I did manage to squeeze in some writing time. I added 684 words.
Overall, it was a pretty good writing week. My word count total is now at 10,004 which is just a bit above where I need to be to reach my 25,000 word goal by the end of the month.
I hope you enjoyed my July 2020 Camp NaNoWriMo Week 2. Are you participating in Camp NaNoWriMo? How is your writing going so far?
Awesome to see your progress. Keep going!
Thank you.
