November goals banner

Ah, November. The second last month of the year and the real beginning of winter for us Northerners. It is hard to believe that the year is almost over. I feel like these past few months just flew by far too quickly. Hopefully, that means that the winter will also pass in a flash. Since it’s a new month, that means it’s time to set some new goals. However, before I share my November goals, I want to take a moment and go over my October goals and see how those went. How I did in October October was quite the month. There was Thanksgiving,Read More →

NaNoWriMo progress update

‘Twas the night before NaNoWriMo, and all through the house Not a keyboard was clacking, no clicks of a mouse; The notebooks were placed on the table with care, In hopes that stories would soon form there; The writers were tossing and turning in their beds, While visions of plot bunnies danced in their heads.   This is it, the day before NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month starts. For those who may be questioning what NaNoWriMo is, it is a 30-day writing challenge to write 50,000 words over the month of November. A letter to my grandma banner

Today is my grandma’s 84th birthday. Though we live far from each other, I cherish our relationship a lot. I do plan to call her today to wish her a happy birthday, While I thought I would also celebrate her birthday here as well. My sister often shows her snippets of my blog and I thought I could write a letter to my grandma. Perhaps, I could tell her some things that I have never gotten around to saying during our phone calls. You see, I love my grandma very much, but I sometimes have a hard time saying things – especially out loud. DearRead More →

NaNoWriMo is just two weeks away! Hopefully, by now you have taken the steps necessary to get ready for NaNoWriMo. At the very least, you may have a story idea picked out. Even if you don’t, that’s okay! Half of the fun of NaNoWriMo is that feeling of panic over creating a story and then the joy of when that story appears on the screen. However, knowing your story is only part of being successful at NaNoWriMo. Having participated in NaNoWriMo for seven years, I have learned the importance of having a NaNoWriMo survival kit. But what exactly is a NaNoWriMo survival kit? Why do you need one?Read More →

October goals banner

Hello October! Wow, this year is going by so fast. I have a hard time believing that it is already October. A new month means a new set of goals. Before I get into my October goals, I want to take a moment and look back on my September goals and see how well I did with them. How I did in September Weed the garden. Not so much. Harvest the garden. Done! Got lots of beans, shelling peas and snap peas picked. Prep the garden for winter. Some of this is done. However, with some plants still occupying the beds, not all of it is done. CleanRead More →

Apple orchard

Do you feel it? That change in the air. The mornings are cooler, leaves have started to change colors and pumpkin everything seems to be on everyone’s minds. These are just a few signs that fall has arrived. There seems to be a fine line between those people who love fall and those who don’t. I am one of those people who look forward to fall each year. I might go as far as to say that it is my favorite season of the year. Since we are just getting into fall, I thought it would be fun to share with you the many reasons why IRead More →

Rhino collection

Today, September 22, is World Rhino Day. As someone who loves rhinos, I knew I had to make a post to celebrate this day. Rhinos have been my favorite animal since I was a little kid. I remember first seeing them in nature documentaries that I used to watch and was absolutely enthralled with these beautiful creatures. The first time I saw one in a zoo as a child, it was such a magical experience. It felt almost surreal seeing this creature from Africa not far away. I would have given anything to be able to touch it. Honestly, I still feel that way today.Read More →

These are just a few of the things to figure out in order to get ready for NaNoWriMo. For those who aren’t aware NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. Favorite anime header

Did you know that I’m an anime fan? Well, I am. In fact, I mentioned this in my A to Z post a little while back. I didn’t always watch anime. It wasn’t until about 15 years ago that I started watching it, and my love of anime has grown from there. There is such a large number of anime movies and series out there is, so it can be hard to find good ones. Much like everything else in the world, what I like and what someone else likes will vary a lot. However, I thought it would be fun to share my favoriteRead More →
