NaNoWriMo is just two weeks away! Hopefully, by now you have taken the steps necessary to get ready for NaNoWriMo. At the very least, you may have a story idea picked out. Even if you don’t, that’s okay! Half of the fun of NaNoWriMo is that feeling of panic over creating a story and then the joy of when that story appears on the screen. However, knowing your story is only part of being successful at NaNoWriMo. Having participated in NaNoWriMo for seven years, I have learned the importance of having a NaNoWriMo survival kit. But what exactly is a NaNoWriMo survival kit? Why do you need one?Read More →

October goals banner

Hello October! Wow, this year is going by so fast. I have a hard time believing that it is already October. A new month means a new set of goals. Before I get into my October goals, I want to take a moment and look back on my September goals and see how well I did with them. How I did in September Weed the garden. Not so much. Harvest the garden. Done! Got lots of beans, shelling peas and snap peas picked. Prep the garden for winter. Some of this is done. However, with some plants still occupying the beds, not all of it is done. CleanRead More →

Apple orchard

Do you feel it? That change in the air. The mornings are cooler, leaves have started to change colors and pumpkin everything seems to be on everyone’s minds. These are just a few signs that fall has arrived. There seems to be a fine line between those people who love fall and those who don’t. I am one of those people who look forward to fall each year. I might go as far as to say that it is my favorite season of the year. Since we are just getting into fall, I thought it would be fun to share with you the many reasons why IRead More →

Rhino collection

Today, September 22, is World Rhino Day. As someone who loves rhinos, I knew I had to make a post to celebrate this day. Rhinos have been my favorite animal since I was a little kid. I remember first seeing them in nature documentaries that I used to watch and was absolutely enthralled with these beautiful creatures. The first time I saw one in a zoo as a child, it was such a magical experience. It felt almost surreal seeing this creature from Africa not far away. I would have given anything to be able to touch it. Honestly, I still feel that way today.Read More →

Twas the night before NaNoWriMo and I'm getting my writing desk ready.

NaNoWriMo is just over a month away. You know what that means? That’s right, it’s time to panic! What are you going to write about? When will you have time to write? How do words even work anymore? Why do I do this to myself every year? Where did that flash drive full of ideas go? Who will feed me when I am buried deep in my writing? These are just a few of the things to figure out in order to get ready for NaNoWriMo. For those who aren’t aware NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It is a writing challenge held every NovemberRead More →

Favorite anime header

Did you know that I’m an anime fan? Well, I am. In fact, I mentioned this in my A to Z post a little while back. I didn’t always watch anime. It wasn’t until about 15 years ago that I started watching it, and my love of anime has grown from there. There is such a large number of anime movies and series out there is, so it can be hard to find good ones. Much like everything else in the world, what I like and what someone else likes will vary a lot. However, I thought it would be fun to share my favoriteRead More →

Oh August where did you go? Is it just me or did August just fly by? It seems that this year going by super fast. Another month means another list of goals. I have been enjoying making these monthly goals list and doing my best to reaching all of them. Before we get to my September goals, we will take a moment to look back at my August goals. How I did in August I did okay with my goals in August. Admittedly, I could have done better, but I honestly don’t mind not hitting some goals. Weed the garden. I didn’t do all thatRead More →

The time has passed quickly and before it truly comes to an end, I thought I would share my feelings about this summer. While there is still nearly a month of summer left, with school starting next week, summer is basically over. Honestly, fall is in the air, and that is what sent me down the summer reflections path. Summer reflections I have to admit, I’ve never really taken the time to look back and reflect upon a summer before. They tend toRead More →
