The fourth week of Camp NaNoWriMo has come to an end. This is the week where I feel like I truly hit my writing stride. I may not have felt like writing every day, but when I sat down to do it, I fell into a steady rhythm of typing. As the end of the month approaches, the pressure is on to hit that final word count goal. While I am not rushing as I have in previous NaNoWriMo’s, I still feel that desire to end strong. At least my story and characters are behaving themselves as I try to navigate their world for theRead More →

The second week of Camp NaNoWriMo has come to a close. I will admit, this wasn’t the easiest of weeks, I was busy with a lot of things around the house, there was a heatwave and I was overall distracted. July is likely to be one of my busiest months of the year, so finding the time to write every day is a challenge, but I still plan on giving it my all. This week, I did find some help with the writing by joining in on some writing sprints. Sprints are one of my favorite ways to write, as they give you a burstRead More →

July has arrived and that means we are officially in the second half of 2020. This also means that we are solidly in summer, the kids are finally out of school and the weather is turning nicer – though some days it has been unseasonably hot already. You may find that life is getting busy, but that doesn’t mean you should skip setting monthly goals. Even just a few will keep you moving towards a greater long-term goal. For me, a new month means it’s time to set some goals. Before we get to my July 2020 goals, let’s take a minute to review howRead More →

Did you know that Camp NaNoWriMo happens twice a year? Once in April and then again in July. After having good success with April’s challenge, I was eager to write again this month. If you are unfamiliar with the main challenge, NaNoWriMo, it is a 30-day challenge to write a 50,000-word novel during November. However, the one big difference between the main one and camp is that during Camp NaNoWriMo you can change your word count goal. Additionally, you can choose to use the month to edit an existing novel, keeping track of how many hours or pages you work on. If you have beenRead More →

Can you believe that it is already June? The sixth month of the year means the arrival of summer. It’s hard to believe that May is already here. Despite everything that is going on in the world, the last few months have flown by and we are steadily approaching the middle of the year. However, unlike March, April was a solid month. Sure, there is still plenty of uncertainty in the air and some of us are still adjusting, but for me, everything fell into a rhythm. The arrival of a new month means it’s time to reassess my goals and tailor them to my needs. Before we get into my May 2020 goals, let’s take a moment to look over how I didRead More →

Another week of writing has come and gone in April’s Camp NaNoWriMo. That means it’s time for the Camp NaNoWriMo 2020 week 3 update. This week wasn’t all that different from the previous two. I did get writing done, but it came with some struggles as well. Life also kept me busy as I have been ensuring the housework doesn’t fall behind and I’ve been getting some long overdue organizing projects done. Not to mention that I have been working on getting a bit of an early start to my garden, so writing hasn’t been my top priority right now. Even so, I am doingRead More →
